Our Community Reinvestment Fund

Collab with Kat was formed as a social enterprise and has remained committed to uplifting grassroots initiatives and underserved communities globally. In addition to equipping our clients with the resources and skills to advance their missions, we channel our net profits into a community reinvestment fund to amplify their impact and bring more resources to local leaders.

Each year, the fund recipients or project investments are determined during Collab with Kat’s annual review and objectives mapping session in the winter. The following is a brief portfolio of our contributions:

Area of Focus: Food Security and Safety in Cambodia

The Harvest Project – គម្រោងប្រមូលផល is a research initiative led by local social workers advancing urban agriculture and food security in Siem Reap City. The project was launched in February 2025. The research team comprised of three university interns from PEPY,  one social worker from Siem Reap, and one social worker from Germany. Our team worked closely with the team to outline research objectives, lend our expertise on food security projects and community surveys, and support survey session logistics.

The topics were event management, donor outreach, and strategic planning. The selected organizations were   from Association of Human Building Capacity (AHBC), Funleko, Naroman ba Futuru, Associação Grupo Comunidade Rural AGCR, Centro Juventude Municipio Lautem, Sharis Haburas Communidade-SHC, BTL E.P. Following the training, our team visited at some of the organization’s work sites to see their work firsthand and conduct needs assessments.

2023 Fund Partners

Area of Focus: Helping current clients/partners working in Youth Development in upskilling their staff or covering a portion of their running costs.

We were deeply impressed and inspired by several Cambodian youth development organizations. There were two stand-out clients, who were Cambodian-led, local, and had a long history of enabling the youth in their programs to access skilled employment. The first was PEPY Empowering Youth, who received a $5,000 grant from us to support their Business Incubator program. The second was Spoons Cambodia. Spoons was provided with free training and consulting from us during the latter half of 2023.
